Instructions for checking and distributing goods safely on Containers

1. Container inspection

Container inspection before loading: All containers before being used need to have a CSC inspection certificate, compatible with the international convention on container safety.

During transportation, containers are also inspected and monitored at transshipment points. To ensure a safe transportation process, you can refer to some of the following contents:

Check outside the container:

Are there holes or cracks in the walls, ceiling, or floor of the container?
Can the container door open and close normally?
Are the locking devices and handles in good working order
Lead clamps are in good condition
The labels of the previous shipment are gone.

Some things to check with special containers:

Ground container: Horizontal walls need to be erected and locked
Open containers: Roof braces need to be in place. The tarps are undamaged and of the right size to ensure full coverage of the ceiling area of ​​the container, the ropes are in good condition.

With rigid ceiling containers: the container ceiling shows no signs of harm, the connection positions are properly installed.

For containers with connected electrical equipment: it is necessary to check all conditions of electrical equipment (wires, plugs, …) before supplying power to the container.

Check inside the container

Container is waterproof: can get inside the container, close the container door and check for light to get through holes, cracks or crevices
Make sure the inside of the container is dry.
Make sure the container is clean, no smell
Make sure there are no sharp objects that can damage the goods during transportation

If goods are loaded into customer containers, ensure that the CSC inspection certificate is valid.

2. Container Load Distribution

Items need to be arranged to ensure that the center of gravity of the load is centered on the center of the container, where this is not possible, the maximum allowable distance from the center of the container to the center of the load is 60 cm for 20 foot container and 90 cm for 40 foot container.
