Notes when charging batteries for electric forklifts
The power source of electric forklift is mainly battery and DC motor. Proper use of forklift batteries, including proper charging, proper replacement and other operational issues, is the basis for keeping electric forklift accessories in top condition.
The first is the operation of charging the forklift battery. Forklift batteries are one of the most important parts of an electric forklift. If the maintenance is done well for this part, the service life and life of the electric forklift battery will be extended. On the contrary, it will reduce work efficiency, accelerate battery drain and ultimately make the battery inefficient.
Forklift drivers should first pay attention to the battery level displayed on the forklift display before starting or charging the forklift. Ideally, you should battery when its power is still 20%. Don’t wait until all of its power supplies are exhausted. On the other hand, running out of power has a certain effect on the life of the battery. Do not charge the forklift without checking the forklift’s electric meter, try to see if the forklift is running on electricity. Forklift batteries have a limited charge time. Accidental charging will directly reduce battery life.
Before charging the forklift battery, be sure to confirm the suitability of the forklift charger. This is not a suitable charging opportunity, which will seriously affect the life of the battery or damage the battery directly.
When charging, open the top cover or remove the battery from the forklift in a well-ventilated area. When charging the battery, it is best to open the cover for ventilation. As the flammable gas hydrogen gas is generated when charging a battery, do not expose the battery to an open flame as open flame can easily form an explosive gas, which can cause fire, property damage and personal injury. Smoking near the battery is strictly prohibited, any flames or sparks are strictly prohibited. When storing or charging the battery, the battery must be well ventilated, but not located at the discharge port to prevent corrosion by acid mist.
The charger connector plug must be in place. When the forklift battery needs to be charged, the connector of the charger and the battery plug must be properly plugged in. If the battery is plugged in the wrong position, the contact surface is small, the resistance is high, the resistance is too large, which can easily cause a fire.
Forklift batteries are charging but need to be used before being fully charged. You must turn off the suspend switch first, otherwise the power will flow back, which is easy to burn the computer charging board.
Battery surfaces or connections must be kept clean and dry. If there is dust and impurities, it must be cleaned with a damp cloth or anti-static cloth, otherwise it will cause fire and explosion, short circuit, fire and explosion, corrosion of terminals and connection strips, damage to the battery.
